I'm pretty sure the "I love you" I said and the "I love you" he heard were two different things.
[Why hadn't he even considered that? He wonders, not for the first time, that maybe he's become too ruined by this world. He shouldn't have just assumed Riku would be okay with his desires. That wasn't fair to his friend, not when this city had forced him to learn too much too quickly.
Maybe they should be protecting Riku instead?
